今回もメールから使える表現を学んでいきたいと思います。
私の英語の先生は、クリスチャンでした。
なので、毎週日曜日に教会に集まっていて、私たち家族もたまに誘われることがありました。
クリスマス会やエッグハントなど、子供が喜ぶイベントもたくさんの教会で行われていました。
イベントの近くになると、様々な教会の外に、イベントの日時が書かれた看板が出ているので、その教会が初めてでも、ふらりと参加することが出来ました。
今回のメールは、教会の集まりに誘われたけれど、私の体調が悪く参加できなかった時のメールの返信メールです。
まず、そのメールを見てみましょう。
I am sorry you have not been feeling well.
Your throat was bothering you when you were here.
Hope you get better very quickly.
Sorry you couldn’t make it today, but I certainly understand.
We had a very good service today and a good number of people attended.
It was great to hear 〜’s preach.
When he was here he was studying to become a pastor.
He and his wife and daughter left here in 2010 to go to CA and become pastor of a church there.
It was wonderful to see them again and hear how his preaching has matured.
When you were here last week, we did not talk about when you can come next. If you are feeling better, do you want to come this Wednesday?
If that works for you, that is fine for me although I would need to be done by shortly after 11.

訳：先週あなたがうちに来た時、次回いつ来るのかを話しませんでしたね
もし、体調が良くなったら今度の水曜日に来ますか？
